Privacy & cookies
Last updated: 5 October 2026
In short: Yesterpedia uses no cookies and has no accounts. It does not collect personal data. Your game progress stays in your own browser. Visit counts are measured with privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics.
Who is responsible
Yesterpedia (yesterpedia.puntofisso.net) is run by puntofisso. If you have any questions about this policy, get in touch via puntofisso.net.
Cookies
Yesterpedia does not set any cookies, its own or anyone else's. That's why there's no cookie banner.
What's stored on your device
To remember your progress, your statistics and whether you've already seen the instructions,
the game saves a small record in your browser's local storage under the name yesterpedia:v1.
It contains only your guesses for each day and nothing that identifies you.
- It is never sent to our server or anyone else.
- It is used only to make the game work, for example so you can't replay today's puzzle and so we can show your streak.
- You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. This resets your statistics.
Analytics
We count visits with Plausible Analytics, which runs on our own server (plausible.puntofisso.net). Your data is not shared with Plausible or any other third party. Plausible:
- uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device;
- does not store your IP address. Instead it creates a temporary code from the IP address and browser details to count unique visitors, and changes the ingredients of that code every 24 hours, so you can't be tracked from one day to the next or across websites;
- records only totals, such as pages viewed, the referring website, the country, and the browser and device type.
Content loaded from Wikimedia
Article thumbnails load directly from Wikimedia's servers (upload.wikimedia.org). As with any website you visit, your browser sends Wikimedia your IP address and browser details when it fetches those images. That's covered by the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. When you follow a link to a Wikipedia article, the same applies. Fonts are served from our own domain, so nothing is requested from Google or other font services.
Sharing your result
The "Share result" button copies an emoji grid to your clipboard, or opens your device's share menu. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to paste or share it yourself.
Server logs
Like most websites, the web server may briefly keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, the page requested and the time of the request) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to identify or profile visitors and are deleted regularly.
Your rights
We don't hold personal data that identifies you, so there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete. If you have concerns, contact us as described above. If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
